Day 4

The Missing Keys

It was a day like any other day on this vacation. I got up started working. Grandma turned on a Japanese horror movie. The kids, wife, and sister in law took a nap. Then the peaces started to fall into place for the missing keys.

The goal of the day was to go out and find Zoe (my baby) an out fit for cheap for the wedding. They wanted to take Grandma as well so she could find a dress for the wedding as well. They where going to head out in the morning but that was not going to work if Grandma was going to come. So then it was postponed till after noon then late afternoon so I would be off work and could watch Zoe. The time came for them to head out on their long journey filled of stress and heartache.

The loaded up the car. I turned on the USA vs Ghana soccer game and they were off. It was just me, Zoe, Grandpa, nephew, niece and sister in law. It was going good the USA scored a goal with in the first 30 seconds. The kids where happy. Grandpa was enjoying the game. And the parents where glad everyone was happy. Then out of no where behind my back I heard the door open DUNNUNUNUNUNUNUNUN. I scanned the room nephew CHECK, Zoe CHECK, niece CHECK, sister in law CHECK, and Grandpa WHERE is GRANDPA. He was trying to escape.

I ran over to him. Not sure why I ran since he does not move fast it is like zombies why do people run they can barley walk just walk away from them and you will be fine. Stopped him and said what are you doing. He replied I'm going to check the mail. I said Okay lets go check the mail. We went and checked the mail it was a nice little walk to the mail box and back. Lost grandpa was averted CHECK. Next to the keys.

The keys are nice and new for our new car. They have a yellow tag on them cause we got the oil changed before we started our journey. As I said the girl minus Zoe where going shopping for cloths for the wedding. They took off and arrived got out of the car. Keys CHECK, money CHECK, Mitzi CHECK, and Grandma CHECK. They walked around the mall trying to find Zoe an outfit before looking for Grandma's outfit. They found one for 10 bucks excitement ensued WOOHOO.

Next the hunt for Grandma's dress. They walked around till their feet where as red as the red sea (I don't think the red sea is actually red but I don't know). Then there it was a rack of dresses that every ones feet said where the dress style for Grandma. They dug and dug and tried on Dresses here and there. It was like those cartoons where you see the cloths just flying everywhere. Then they did it they found the dress that looked right and good on Grandma. They where off to bring their spoils of war back home.

Their feet where still red their wallets a little less fool and their stomachs empty. They made it to the car only to find that the Key the one key to rule them all was gone POOF not in a pocket here or a purse there. It was no where to be found. So they asked their feet for a little more to go on a hunt the most epic hunt of the century the Key hunt of 2014. They walked in circles clock wise and counter clock wise. Grandma had to throw in the flag and my brother in law went and picked up the wooded shopper to bring her back to home base.

The two that where left had a thought WHAT IF.... and they where off to where the found the most magical of dresses for Grandma. and what do you know the war was one the key was found the enemies retreated the Feet where relieved and I can still get my birthday and father day gift :D.
Do you see it?

That is the story of the lost key. All accounts are true and none are exaggerated in any way shape or form I promise.

Till Next time make a good story.

Day 3

IT's Fathers DAY!

It is fathers day. It is my first fathers day. It is a day where it is fun to be a father. It is just a day for fathers to be excused to grill out drink a beer and the wife can't get mad at you (the last part is optional). But it is my first fathers day so it was special to me cause well it's the first one.

As you guessed (cause you are smart like that) we grilled out sort of. The day started off with a bang (not really) I got up still a little tired from all the driving. Had some break fast DONUTS really good Donuts for my family they are almost as good as Donuts King's donuts. After I ate breakfast I played with baby then watched some of that world cup thing. Then the wife made me lunch. I feel like I keep saying then. Really today was not that exciting kind of a lazy day.

We did have some excitement. Let me tell you about it. So as I said earlier we we grilled out sort of. I turned on the grill to get things wormed up so I could clean the grill and put the burgers on. Well I got it lit closed the lid and went back in side. There are like 1 billion mosquitoes here so I'm not staying out side nope nope nope. After about 10 minutes I looked and there was fire come from the knobs. I was like THAT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! we are all going to blow up. I know that we where not close to blowing up but I could see the it catching something else of fire and well do what fires do best BURN things. So I turned it off and all that fun stuff. I was done with the grilling part of fathers day.

See that grill. Would you use that grill?

My brother in law, his wife, kid and two dogs came over for the dinner. When we told him about the grill he was like let me look at it? Went out there said look the hose is not plugged in all the way plugged it in and turned it on. I said I'm not using that grill it was on fire where fire should not be so it is all you. He grilled up some good pork ribs (that's what people say i did not have the ribs) and some steak yummy steak.

That was the end of my day. Nothing exciting happened with Zoe or the dog. But I think TX grandma and grandpa need a new grill.

So Long till next time

Day 2

Day 2

We drove and drove and drove a little more yep we just kept on driving like the wind. We left the day before at 10 pm at night 1 hour latter than we wanted. This 1 hour costed us 4 hours in the end. So when travelling with a baby and a dog you stop a lot to get them out of the car sets to let them stretch or pee/poop. The goal was to leave at 9 which is when they both go to sleep for the night. This way we could drive and drive and get to TX location around 1 TX time or 12 our time. The idea behind this was it would mean 2 feedings while on the road and it would be during their sleepy time they both like to sleep in the morning.

There is a line a magical line the most magical line you can ever imagine it happens after the noon feeding. That line is the I'm awake and want to move around line. Guess what we did we crossed that magical line and the baby went off like a grenade. She would cry and cry and there was nothing we could do. (Is this sleep training?) So we would drive until we could not take it any more stop and move around for about an 1hr and then get back to the road. It was like magic we would put her in her car seat all quite and cute and then start to move and BOOOOOOOM!!! Insert crying baby here.

WE MADE IT WOOHOO WOOT yeah we made it. We got to my wife's grandparents house baby and dog are happy to not be in the car.

My wife's sister was here with her husband, kid, and both of her dogs a puppy (husky, lab) and a mini poodle. The puppy would keep picking on my dog
Lilly duck hunting. Found a log to chew.
And well my dog would be like NOPE and pin her down so cute. This just makes me want a puppy so badly. It was funny because well it is a puppy so lots of energy and my wife kept asking so do you still want a puppy and I was like YES I WANT A PUPPY!!! But we can't get one till we get Lilly's back hip(s) fixed.

So I'm 28 and a father and a dog owner. Who needs to get his hunting dog fixed before the next hunting season starts.

till next time have a good day.

To TX

Family Trip

This is my family trip blog. My mother told me since we will be driving across the country (CO -> Tx -> IL -> Ky -> CO) with a 4/5 month old and a 2 yr old dog we should blog it. So that's what I'm going to do.

Day 1

It is packing day. As new parents this packing thing is well NEW to us what do you pack for a baby how much how little. In my book I say her clothes are small so lets just bring all of them. We use cloth dippers and well i think we should bring cloth and disposable. Disposable for the driving and cloth for while we are at peoples houses as long as they are okay with it. But we have a list my wife came up with for the baby. I like lists it makes sure you don't forget any thing except for the things you for got to put on the list. Whats on the list you may ask well let me tell you:
  • Dippers cloth and disposable.
  • Pack and Play crib.
  • pump
  • milk freezer bags
  • bottles
  • pacifiers
  • Booger sucker
  • Nose Spray (the stuff that helps brake up boogers)
  • 1.5 weeks of onesies
  • 1.5 weeks of out fits (onesies and pants)
  • Car seat
  • Car seat base
  • Stroller
  • wipes
  • dipper rash cream
  • dipper bag
  • changing table
  • feeding pillow
  • sleeping pillow
  • blankets
That's just the stuff I could remember. There is plenty more. The point here is that the baby adds so much more stuff.

Before the kid we would pack the following:
  • Clothes
  • Bathroom stuff
  • Rc car
  • Laptops (yes we have multiple)
  • Beaglebone Black
  • Dog
  • Gopro
That's all. Look at that list it is so simple. Who new adding a kid in the mix would triple the stuff.

All I know is that I'm glad we got a Dubaru Forester but I wish we had got a mini van.

Hello my name is mat and I'm 28 and yes I want a mini van. Is that weird?

So long till next time
